Although not a teaching hospital, this facility has a great reputation and provides good exposure to a young and diverse case mix to that of a teaching hospital.
The Hospital:
Our client is a 131-bed hospital with over 350 qualified medical practitioners in what is the regional public hospital in WA.
Visitors and locals now have access to upgraded, modern treatment facilities with all clinical works in what has been a $59.6 million redevelopment of the main campus which officially opened in 2015.
The completion of clinical works seamlessly ties into earlier phases of the redevelopment which included a palliative care unit, new emergency department, high dependency unit and medical imaging department.
The Emergency Department (ED) is a busy, high acuity ED which sees approximately 27,000 ED presentations per year and has a 12% admission rate.
The Position:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Emergency Medicine Head of Department (HOD):
* to lead the development of ED into a rural Centre of Academic and Clinical Excellence focusing on innovation, education, partnerships and research
* to work in close collaboration with agencies such as RFDS, RCSWA and the WACHS Command Centre
* have a strong interested in Aboriginal health and research opportunities
* seeking a diverse case mix that you won’t see in an urban setting
* looking to experience the beauty and adventure of country WA and the spirit and generosity of rural communities
* interested in an excellent remuneration package including allowances and subsidies, with flexible working arrangements and 4 non-clinical days per fortnight (pro rata).
Total Remuneration package up to $515,897 p.a
Your Profile:
Ideally the hospital will have at least 6 months Australian or UK experience or someone who has been assessed as ‘partially comparable’ about the college. SIMH with ACEM interview date or outcome.
