You are an experienced General Manager with a successful track record in leading high-performing teams and driving business growth. You have proven front-facing strategic sales leadership experience, along with a hands-on leadership style. Your background will be in the industrial or heavy industries, ideally in equipment rental or pipeline, and include SME leadership experience. You’re a strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement sales structures, KPI frameworks, and operational improvements. You thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and possess a high level of emotional intelligence, enabling you to build strong relationships with clients and staff alike. The company primarily services EPC contractors working on large-scale projects and plant maintenance across Australia, PNG, and New Zealand. About the Role:
As the newly appointed General Manager, you’ll step into a pivotal position overseeing two fast-evolving businesses, responsible for leading both sales and operations with full P&L accountability. You’ll manage and mentor a growing sales team, working closely with the Managing Director to shape sales strategies and operational efficiencies that fuel ongoing growth. This role combines strategic sales leadership with hands-on management, where 20% of your time will focus on direct sales, 40% on sales management, and 40% on operational oversight. A key objective is to unite sales teams across product lines and unlock substantial revenue potential from dormant accounts and underutilized rental assets. Regional travel will be required. With dedication and results, this role offers a clear path to gradually assume more responsibilities from the MD, with a defined progression toward the CEO role in the near future.
