Job Description
The Senior Brand Manager - IBD is responsible for leading the development and execution of brand strategies to meet organisational objectives. This role entails driving brand growth, enhancing market share, and ensuring brand consistency across all marketing channels. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to oversee product development, manage promotional initiatives, and provide insights based on market data.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute comprehensive brand strategies to maintain and grow brand equity and market share.
2. Conduct and analyse market research to identify consumer trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities, using data to inform strategic decisions.
3. Efficiently manage the brand budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve marketing goals.
4. Collaborate with Market Analytics and Business Intelligence (MABI) and Finance partners to develop forecast models and regularly review to ensure consistent product supply by accurately predicting future demand and financial performance.
5. Collaborate cross functionally with affiliate functions (Regulatory affairs, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Patient Experience, PV, Sales, MABI and others) to define local brand strategy, strategic priorities and action plans that deliver our in-market performance expectations.
6. Role model the AbbVie Ways of working behaviours and enable the Brand Team matrix to work collaboratively in order to achieve high quality strategy and execution capability.
7. Plan, execute, and effectively evaluate marketing campaigns across digital and traditional media channels, monitoring effectiveness and adjusting tactics as needed.
8. Develop and refine brand positioning, messaging, and value propositions to differentiate from competitors and connect with target audiences.
9. Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of branding initiatives, identifying areas of strength and opportunity across the brand team and providing regular reports to senior management.
10. Manage and build relationships with external agencies and vendors to ensure high-quality creative and strategic outputs.
11. Mentor and develop brand managers and marketing specialists, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
12. Ensure all brand activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
13. Ensure all business activities comply with the relevant Acts, legal demands and ethical standards.
14. Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per AbbVie’s policies and procedures.
15. Proactively participate in AbbVie’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.
16. Adhere to AbbVie’s internal codes of conduct and compliance processes.
17. Other ad hoc duties as requested.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree/s in Marketing, Business Administration, Science or a related field.
2. Significant experience in brand management, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
3. Experience in leading and influencing a matrix environment/cross-functional team.
4. Strong knowledge and application of marketing principles and techniques.
5. Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with the ability to develop innovative marketing strategies and tactics.
6. Excellent project management and organisational abilities.
7. Proven track record of successful brand management and growth.
8. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Ability to work in and influence a matrix environment with strong negotiation skills.
11. A strong leader and coach, with a focus on coaching for maximum performance and driving results.
12. High emotional intelligence, with strong resilience and adaptability.
13. Strong customer and patient focus.
14. Proficient in marketing software and tools, including CRM, SEO, and analytics platforms.
