Sole Cook / Chef-Remote Northern Territory Sole Cook / Chef-Remote Northern Territory We are seeking an experienced Sole Cook / Chef for this busy remote venue located in remote Northern Territory. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in high volume kitchens and be comfortable cooking solo and managing kitchen assistants. The venue caters to the locals, corporate clients staying in town and tourists stopping in for refreshments. The venue features onsite motel rooms, bottle shop, bar / bistro & gaming facilities. The town offers good facilities including local shops and medical services and hosts many annual events including rodeos and camp drafts. Plenty of places to explore in the local area on days off including walking tracks, ranges and swimming reserves. The venue is family owned and offer their staff a great environment to work and live. Package: $75,000 - $80,000 Salary Free Accommodation & Meals (self contained unit with WIFI) Sponsorship may be available for the right candidate after six month probation period. Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of buffet dishes for breakfast, crib lunch and dinner according to established recipes and standards. Develop and maintain an innovative and seasonal menu that reflects current culinary trends. Manage all aspects of kitchen operations including inventory control, meal preparation, and food presentation. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen and storage areas. Monitor the quality and freshness of ingredients used in meal preparation. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to coordinate food service and timing for optimal guest experience. Train and supervise kitchen assistants, ensuring they understand and adhere to kitchen protocols. Other duties as required Requirements Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a high-volume kitchen environment. Trade qualification or equivalent certification is preferred. Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment. Ability to work independently, use initiative and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organisational and multitasking skills with attention to detail. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and front-of-house staff. Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, with current food safety supervisor certification.
