Your next career opportunityJoin the Faculty of Arts as a Research Development Officer and play a key role in supporting the organisation and management of activities relating to the Faculty's research strategy.
Working with a collaborative and dynamic team, you will help coordinate activities related to funding, governance, and strategic initiatives, ensuring research projects run smoothly.In this role, you will use your strong organisational skills to support a variety of research activities while developing a deep understanding of how the Faculty's research portfolio operates.
You will also work closely with senior staff and academic and professional stakeholders, making this a great opportunity to gain exposureYour responsibilities will include: Working closely with colleagues in the Research Team, contribute to the pre-award support program for external funding proposals, including Australian Research Council grants and HERDC Category 2-3 grants and contractsWorking closely with colleagues in the Research Team and Post-Award Finance Services, support set-up of projects that have been successfully funded by external grants and contractsContribute to, organise and/or deliver information sessions for Faculty researchers in areas relevant to portfolio of responsibilitiesProvide executive support to the Faculty Research CommitteeOrganise events relevant to the Research portfolio, including by booking venues, engaging researchers, collaborating with other professional staff and managing communications and registrationsSupport the coordination of Faculty research centre review processes, including by scheduling, coordinating relevant documentation, panel communications and providing executive support You may be a great fit if:This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and adaptable professional with strong communication skills to contribute to the success of the Faculty's research strategy.
You have the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences, excel at managing multiple tasks under competing deadlines and handling sensitive information with sound judgment and discretion.
A qualification, or understanding, of the Humanities and Social Sciences will be highly regarded.You may also: A tertiary qualification (ideally but not necessarily in the Humanities or Social Sciences) ideally with subsequent relevant experience; or equivalent professional experience and/or qualificationsStrong organisational skills, with demonstrated ability to work both with a high level of autonomy and as part of a teamDemonstrated ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner to broad audiencesAbility to efficiently manage a variety of tasks and meet deadlines in a context of competing demands and timelinesExcellent digital skills, with expertise in Outlook, Word and Excel, and familiarity with web editing, including the ability to quickly become adept at using new software For further information please refer to the attached PD.Your New TeamThe Research Office enables the Faculty of Arts' strategic aim of achieving research excellence and impact.
