About the role The full-time, fixed-term 4 month contract role of the Patient Transport Officer works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure that clients are transported in a safe and timely manner to and from required venues; that items are couriered as required; general administrative duties. Essence of the role: Safe and timely transport of clients to and from required venues Couriering resident related items as required Performing computer data entry, receiving and sending emails, electronic filing and general clerical and administrative duties as required by the Fleet & Transport Manager Washing and cleaning including general maintenance of Patient Transport vehicles ,packaged and pool motor vehicles and associated items Essential/Mandatory Criteria: Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action A current NSW Driver’s Licence (Class C-Car licence) and safe driving record. Prepared to undertake the Driver Assessment Test if required Demonstrated knowledge of the Health and/or Aged Care Sectors, with experience in transporting frail, aged and / or vulnerable people desirable but not essential Presents professionally and takes pride in personal appearance Senior First Aid Certificate desirable Confident at using computers, including Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, using relevant software Ability to work independently and as part of a team Empathy and patience Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing Customer service focus.
