About the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) represents the State of Queensland in criminal cases. The ODPP's significant responsibility is to prosecute criminal matters in the High Court of Australia, Court of Appeal (QId), Supreme Court, Mental Health Court, District Court, the Childrens Court of Queensland and the Magistrates Court (in limited locations and matters).
About your opportunity
An A04 Court Listings Coordinator opportunity is available on a permanent flexible full-time basis in Beenleigh Chambers. Duties include:
1. Develop, maintain and review systems to record Court applications and other actions.
2. Maintain a thorough and reliable bring-up system for matters.
3. Prepare correspondence for police officers, other legal practitioners, court officers and officers of other government bodies.
4. Prepare and appear at mentions and callovers of prosecutions to ensure that the ODPP is properly represented.
5. Prepare periodic reports and statistics on the work of the Chamber, including outlines of matters that have been considered.
6. Assist the Principal Crown Prosecutor and/or Practice Manager to supervise and develop the capability of administrative officers.
7. Attend to administrative tasks within the Chambers as determined by the Principal Crown Prosecutor and/or Practice Manager.
8. Monitor and maintain office supplies and equipment.
The Court Listing Coordinator plays an important role in the conduct of prosecutions before the Supreme, District, Childrens and Magistrates Courts. In many instances, they are the first point of contract for police officers, legal practitioners, Court Officers, and officers of other Government bodies. Integral to the role is the support that the incumbent provides to Prosecutors, the Practice Manager and colleagues.
Some intra state travel may be required.
