The role In this role, you’ll provide essential accounting services, ensuring that Botanic Gardens of Sydney’s financial records are accurate, timely, and compliant. With responsibility for the integrity of the general ledger and statutory financial reporting, you’ll coordinate processes across monthly reconciliations, bank account management, and capital work reviews. Additionally, you’ll play a key part in preparing financial data and reports, supporting the organization’s strategic goals. For more information read the full Role Description: Financial Accountant What you will bring to the role Ideal candidates are proactive problem-solvers with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a keen interest in collaborating with stakeholders to ensure organisational outcomes are achieved. Solid foundation in financial accounting or finance officer roles, bringing experience in accurate financial reporting and Journals, accruals and reconciliation preparation Public sector experience is a strong plus, with an understanding of compliance obligations under accounting standards, NSW Treasury and other statutory requirements Ideally familiar with SAP, MyWorkZone, and Prime, or a quick learner ready to develop proficiency in these systems. Excellent attention to detail and time management to meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities. Proactive in collaborating effectively across the business to ensure financial integrity. Flexible, enthusiastic and able to work collaboratively in a cohesive, supportive and productive team environment Prior experience with supporting the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors to provide required documentation and analysis Have passion for continuous process improvements, problem solving and sharing knowledge What is an essential requirement: Relevant tertiary qualification and Australian professional membership of CPA/CA or working towards.
