Our client is a busy engineering company. They are seeking a full time Fitter/Welder to join their Sunshine based team. One of our valued clients is an expanding Engineering company currently experiencing significant growth. They are seeking an experienced Fitter/Welder to join their Sunshine team. Annual salary of $70,000 - $75,000 depending on experience. Duties and responsibilities for the position are, but not limited to: Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform task at hand; Perform MIG, TIG and other types of welds based on project needs; Understand weld ability of Mild Steels, Stainless Steels, Aluminum, Wear Plate and other exotic steels; Select proper fillers for jobs based on previous experience or project instructions; Coordinate with Team Leader for efficient fabrication / installations; Conserve resources whenever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction; De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture; Ensure sufficient task analysis is completed to carry work out safely; Perform assigned duties in a timely and safe manner; General Boiler making duties including use of: grinding, cutting (friction and Gas cutting), welding (GMAW, TIG, stick), polishing, Cropping, Pressing, Heat Treatment and Stress Relieving of Steels; Maintain and use equipment as designed; Ensure that work is performed as per drawing and current schedule of works; Ensure all work is carried out to quality and specification requirements; Assist in the management of team building and training of apprentices and other employees as required; Adherence to Company procedures. For this position you will: Have experience in a similar role (ESSENTIAL) Qualification in welding Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations; Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach. Current forklift licence (An advantage) Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts; Experience in reporting on key production metrics; Proficient in MS Office and production software; High standard and appreciation of good communication; Excellent organizational and leadership skills; Attention to detail.
