The Role The duties include but are not limited to: The Collection of household garbage/recycling/organics, commercial waste, parks waste and bundle branch collection. Garbage/recycling/organics clearance from mobile garbage bins put out for emptying by residents. Reducing the impact of collection activities on the environment by ensuring that all waste spilt while collecting is recovered and oil or fuel spills are contained. To assist with the repairs of Mobile Garbage Bins when required. To carry out regular routine maintenance to truck. To assist with any task undertaken by the Waste Management unit as directed by Supervisor. Adhere to all safe working procedures in accordance with instructions. Adhere to Council's OH&S and risk policies. Take reasonable care of themselves and others who may be affected by their actions. Assist council to maintain and improve its services by performing all work in accordance with procedures set out in Best Value Plus and participating in audits as required. To perform tasks that are undertaken by the Waste Management unit as required. To be considered for this role you should have: Heavy Rigid (HR) licence Proven experience to operate a side loader and rear loader. As this role may lead to full time you will be required to provide a recent National Police Check (not older than 6 months) and agree to a full pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol screening.
