As a Restaurant Manager, you will oversee and manage the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring smooth service delivery, operational efficiency, and a high standard of customer satisfaction in line with the unique demands of a regional area like Canberra, ACT. You will be responsible for leading a dedicated team, driving growth, and maintaining the quality of dining and catering services, while adhering to industry regulations and maintaining a strong community presence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Menu Planning: Collaborate with chefs to design menus that reflect seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and local food trends, while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
* Event Coordination: Plan and organise special functions, private dining events, and community-driven initiatives to enhance the restaurant's role within the regional market.
* Purchasing and Budgeting: Manage the procurement of supplies and ingredients, ensuring pricing aligns with budgetary goals and profitability targets, while supporting local suppliers whenever possible.
* Inventory and Financial Management: Maintain accurate records of stock levels, sales, and financial transactions to ensure operational transparency and effective cost control.
* Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure the restaurant adheres to all local health and safety regulations, maintaining clean, functional, and aesthetically pleasing dining facilities that reflect a high standard of professionalism.
* Customer Satisfaction: Engage with guests to gather feedback on meals and service, implementing improvements where necessary to maintain a high level of satisfaction and repeat business.
* Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen and front-of-house staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment while ensuring staff adhere to best practices in service and hospitality.
* Guest Relations: Oversee reservations, greet guests, and assist in order-taking during peak hours to ensure smooth operations and personalized guest experiences.

* Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant management, preferably within a regional or community-focused setting.
* Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
