Responsibilities:
1. Guiding small groups of visitors on approx 1-hour long tours.
2. Tailoring tours to suit the diverse needs, interests and abilities of our visitors.
3. Working as a part of a team to deliver tours to tour groups.
4. Staying up to date with current historical research by attending training and reading relevant books and articles.
5. Actively participating in preserving natural and cultural heritage sites contributing to their protection for future generations.
6. Gaining in-depth knowledge about historical and ecological aspects of the sites, enhancing your understanding and knowledge of local history.
7. Connecting with likeminded individuals who share your passion for conservation and heritage, fostering a sense of community.
Training:
1. Guidance on the content and delivery of house tours.
2. On-the-job training in tour delivery and customer service.
3. Guidance on providing a positive visitor experience during special events and exhibitions.
4. Ongoing support from fellow volunteers.
Commitment
Regular - more than 6 months.
Time required
1 day per week or fortnight: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Sunday.
