About the role
This role sits within our Infrastructure Practice, the team is responsible for building, maintaining the currency of, and supporting hardware including databases, the Data Centre, networks, the mainframe, storage, virtual servers, laptops, printers, infrastructure and software application solutions in a secure, cost-effective manner.
The Communication Engineer role is a key contributor to ensure that the components that make up the Unified Communication capabilities and their associated Operational services are maintained, reliable, and delivered in accordance with Business expectations and agreed Service and Operational Level agreements.
You will be driving the continuous improvement of Unified Communication Capabilities and Services in alignment with the Technology & Transformation (T&T) and Infrastructure Practice strategy and strategic objectives leveraging the Enterprise Automation capabilities and in accordance with our policies, architectures, and standards.
As a Unified Communications Services Engineer, you’ll get to:
1. Design, Build, Deploy and Support Amazon Connect for our Contact Centre and business.
2. Have a key focus on business projects and strategic roadmap items aligned to the service.
3. Influence and support your Leader with decisions regarding sequencing, technical design, and investment, including help drive the strategic roadmap of the communications infrastructure service.
4. Provide level 2 & 3 support for voice & video communications across multiple sites.
5. Build effective working relationships. Work closely with the business and various cross functional teams to manage the platform effectively and better enable end users.
About you
You will have commercial experience in Telecommunications and network operations. You will be experienced with Amazon Connect for Contact Centre. Experience with Microsoft Teams Calling would be an advantage.
To be successful in the role you will have:
6. Experience of SIP Protocol, Networking and telephony systems > supporting and maintaining CCaaS and UCaaS CX Platforms (Amazon Connect).
7. Proven experience and knowledge of IT Technology and Infrastructure.
8. Demonstrated experience and understanding in managing a complex telecommunication environment.
9. Knowledge of VoIP protocols and SIP trunking technologies.
10. Experience DevOps engineering - Python, Lambda, Terraform, React.
11. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
