The reason for this role: Reporting into the Crane Supervisor, the Crane Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently building the crane and overseeing the rigging crew to make sure the crane is built as per the OEM. A full understanding of the safe operation of the SANY crane is required. Please note this role will be working a structured roster whilst on site and you will be based at Camp whilst on shifts. What you will be doing? Safely operate the crane to lift, move, position, and place loads as per job requirements.Conduct pre-operation inspections of the crane, checking for any mechanical issues or malfunctions and ensuring that the crane is in safe working condition.Monitor load weights and follow load charts to ensure operations are within the crane's lifting capacity and working to the lift study.Communicate with riggers radios, or other means to coordinate lifting activities.Strictly adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards during all crane operations.Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs on the crane as needed, reporting any issues that require attention to the maintenance team.Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ongoing training to stay up-to-date with safety practices and operational procedures.Immediately report any safety incidents, equipment malfunctions, or near misses to the Crane Supervisor or Site Supervisor.Complete any required job-related paperwork, such as daily checklists, safety reports, and equipment logs.Assist with the preparation of lift plans, providing input based on practical experience and site conditions. What does your background look like? Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Crane operator with super lift experience.Proven experience with various rigging equipment and techniques.Familiarity with load charts, crane dynamics, and rigging calculations.In-depth knowledge of crane operation, load dynamics, and lifting techniques.Strong understanding of safety regulations, industry standards, and load charts.Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination for precise control of the crane.Effective communication skills, with the ability to understand and follow instructions and signals from riggers and supervisors.Problem-solving skills to quickly address any issues that arise during operations.Ability to sit for extended periods while operating the crane and perform tasks that require physical strength, such as climbing into the cab or handling rigging equipment.Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.Good visual acuity and hearing to operate the crane safely.Strong understanding of rigging and lifting principles, including load calculations and safe working loads.Ability to read and interpret Lift studies and engineering drawings.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to give clear and concise signals and instructions.Qualifications: Certification in HRWL CO /RB.
