Salary: $73,000 to $76,000 plus superannuation per annum

Our client is seeking an experienced Painter to join their team located in Tarneit, Victoria.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Surface Preparation:
* Prepare surfaces by removing old paint, filling holes and cracks, sanding surfaces, and washing walls and other surfaces to ensure optimal adherence of new paint.
* Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finishing coats.
Application of Paint and Coatings:
* Apply paint, varnishes, and other finishes to buildings, interiors, and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
* Mix, match, and apply paints and other finishes to meet the desired effect, ensuring precision and consistency.
Finishing and Detailing:
* Ensure final finishes meet industry standards and client expectations, attending to detail for a polished, professional look.
* Apply decorative and faux finishes, including glazes, distressing, or marbleizing techniques, as requested.
Equipment and Tool Maintenance:
* Maintain painting and decorating tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean, operational, and stored appropriately.
* Operate and maintain spray guns, sandblasting, and other specialized equipment as required for the job.
Safety and Compliance:
* Follow all Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) standards to ensure a safe working environment.
* Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe practices for handling and disposing of paints, varnishes, and solvents.
Client Interaction:
* Consult with clients and supervisors regarding color, finishes, and project details to ensure alignment with client expectations.
* Address any client concerns or questions with professionalism and resolve issues to maintain high client satisfaction.
Project Management and Record-Keeping:
* Maintain accurate records of project materials, timelines, and progress to assist with cost control and job tracking.
* Coordinate with other trades on larger projects to ensure efficiency and workflow continuity.
Requirements:
* Qualifications:
* Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or equivalent qualification.
* Relevant on-the-job experience in painting trades work (minimum 2 years preferred).
* Skills and Attributes:
* Proficiency in using painting tools, materials, and techniques.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
* Knowledge of various finishes, coatings, and colour mixing.
* Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients and team members.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
