We are currently seeking a Workshop Manager for ongoing works in the Goldfields - CPC is offering an $8,000 relocation allowance for candidates not already based in Kalgoorlie.Role:Management of the commercial viability of engineering services and activities to ensure deliverables are met and project outcomes are achieved.Education and Experience:Basic Secondary education, preferably to year 12 and or trade qualifications.Five years experience in a similar capacity.Strong background in a mineral processing, mining, engineering or metal fabrication.Sound knowledge of legislative and statutory requirements.Strong experience of OH&S requirements.Skills and Abilities:Ability to manage human resources to ensure team productivity is maintained.Ability to plan and organise with respect to key responsibility areas.Well developed analytical and problem solving skills.Western Australian driver’s license.High level computer skills.High level communication and interpersonal skills.Duties and Responsibilities:Oversee workshop operations including rig repairs, new plant & equipment manufacture, design and fabrication activities.Ensure all equipment and assets are designed, built, serviced and maintained in a safe, efficient and professional manner.Ensure equipment in the workshop is promptly repaired and serviceable for staff to operate in a safe manner.Ensure all workshop and yard tasking and operations are undertaken in a safe, efficient, cost effective and professional manner.Responsible for Workshop & Yard safety compliance.Compliance with Company Safety Management systems within area of operations.Identify and provide staff training opportunities in liaison with Safety & Training Advisor.Provision of accurate and factual reporting, including maintenance of Plant & Equipment Registers.Supervision of correct completion of documentation including Safety Management system documentation.Supervision of workshop staff.Management of QA process with Workshop area.Compliance with all CPC Engineering policies.Compliance with financial and accounting processes.Management of day to day troubleshooting decisions and actions within area of responsibility.To ensure that production and productivity are maintained in accordance with work schedules.Monitor and action field faults and non compliances.Scheduling mobilisation/demobilisation equipment and service delivery provisions.Provide leadership and supervision for reporting staff to meet company deliverables.Administration:Purchasing and ordering of supplies and consumables.Managing accurate maintenance and service records.Suppliers cost competitiveness and quality.Technical/Systems Knowledge:Trade qualified in relevant discipline ideally.Computer skills on relevant systems, e.g. MYOSH.Ability to read plans and work from diagrams.Human management skills.Project Management skills.Behavioural Competencies:Confident and competent in communicating to a cross section of team members, with effective negotiating skills.Results orientated, prepared to use leadership skills to take the initiative to achieve goals.Team player with ability to gain and maintain respect as a leader.Consistent approach.Honesty and integrity.Highly self motivated with ability to motivate others.Strong commitment to CPC Engineering’s safety philosophies (Zero Injury).Commitment to continuous improvement.
