Job Opportunity: Battlespace System Administrator
We are seeking a bright and energised Battlespace System Administrator to contribute to the critical outcomes of the Australian Defence Force by delivering complex, state-of-the-art programs designed to keep Australia safe.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical operations for BSC's complex IT server and communication solutions that comply with Raytheon and Defence technical standards and security policies.
• Manage system accounts, permissions and directory operations and ensure service delivery staff have the necessary up-to-date information for account administration activities.
• Provide technical input into the development and maintenance of Disaster Recovery Plans & Business Continuity Plans for server and communication infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance.
• Manage software installation, configuration and updates for operating systems, firmware, and software applications including security updates as directed by configuration management authority.
• Perform system and network configuration maintenance.
• Manage backup and recovery protocols.
• Install and manage firewall and intrusion-detection monitoring systems.
• Manage backup system to safeguard critical data collection.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and network problem resolution in coordination with maintainers.
• Coordinate with and provide support for depot-level maintenance actions.
Requirements:
• Relevant Certificate IV/Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in a Systems Administration 2nd / 3rd Level support role (UNIX, Linux and Microsoft).
• Experience in monitoring a complex IT environment.
• Experience in diagnosing networking fault.
• Preferably hold a number of relevant industry qualifications such as: DoD approved 8570 IAT Level II Baseline Certifications, Microsoft Certified System Associate (MSCA), Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA), Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA), Security (CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security).
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 Security Clearance as needed.
