Concept Recruitment is searching for a highly experienced Commercial Manager for our industry-leading client based in Adelaide.
This role is responsible for the performance and quality of all commercial aspects of the projects and performance within the business.
In consultation with the Executive General Manager, this role will undertake all associated HR matters regarding employment and performance review tasks required to manage the associated team effectively.
As part of the senior leadership team, this business-critical role oversees project management, tendering operations, final negotiation, reporting, monitoring, and concluding the tendering activities providing strategic guidance, and also establishes, maintains, improves, and expands the relationships with clients and customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Establish and maintain business development activities, including discovering upcoming business opportunities, and initiate early involvement.
Review contracts, ensuring compliance with company systems and processes, identifying and mitigating risks and opportunities.
Assist in post-tender negotiations of the contractual terms.
Manage the Project management team from handover of project through delivery and completion according to tendered timing, costing, and deliverables.
Ensure necessary project and contract reviews are held, lessons learned processes are conducted and shared across the business for all projects.
Oversee the performance of contract administration activities including preparing and issuing variations, notices of delays, extension of time, and progress claims, and invoices once draft claims are approved.
Recruit, review performance, and manage the estimating, contract administration, and project management resources.
Promote a culture of coaching and mentorship among all the team members ensuring a sustainable succession path.
Provide commercial teams with guidance on cost-saving alternatives, project optimisation, and value engineering.
Lead review and handover meetings among tendering, project, and client teams.
Accountable for the monthly financial reporting on actual results and forecast reporting for cost to complete projects.
Annual Budget Preparation together with team & EGM, and ensuring adherence.
Manage invoicing, variation submissions, and debtor collection as per targets.
Plan, lead, monitor, and manage strategic reviews of the business together with the EGM, ensuring adherence to budgets, targets, and sustainable growth.
Establish, follow up, and maintain sustainable long-term relationships with clients' executive members and teams.
Business Development including meeting with clients to identify upcoming opportunities.
Promote a customer-focused and team culture among all project team members.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience Requirements
Formal or informal Education in Project Management.
Formal education in Engineering, Finance, or Management.
Ability to obtain DCSI and Defence Clearance.
Minimum 10 years of experience in construction, preferably in the Roofing, Cladding or GRC space.
Business Development experience.
Experience in Financial Management including budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis.
Demonstrated experience in contract administration and contract management.
Excellent leadership skills, able to inspire others and create a great culture.
Problem solving and decision-making abilities overlayed with a strategic mindset.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, contractors, and stakeholders.
Excellent understanding of WHSEQ best practice.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office.
Good time management skills and ability to work independently.
