We are seeking experienced, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Home / Community Care Support Workers with a passion for working with the elderly to support them in their own home with tasks including but not limited to providing personal care, shopping, house cleaning, cooking, and social support.

Hunter Community Services (a division of KKCS) have been providing home, community access and centre based activities and supports to local people for almost 30 years. We have a dedicated team of professional
support workers who provide service in the Cessnock, Maitland, and Newcastle LGAs.

About The Role
The Community Support worker is responsible for delivering basic support services to clients in accordance with their care plan.. Priorities include:
Assisting with travel to appointments, shopping, or community access.
Domestic assistance- cleaning, meal preparation and washing.
Medication assistance- paid training available at Grade 3 Level.
Personal Care- paid training at Grade 3 Level.
We have multiple Grade 2 positions available to support consumers with transport and domestic assistance. Grade 3 workers can grow and develop their career with paid training in personal care and medication assistance.
We are looking for new employees who have Monday-Friday availability more hours are offered to people who can work outside of this timeframe.

Selection Criteria
Must have reliable, roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance and current Australian Driver’s License;
First Aid (less than 3 years old) and CPR (less than 12 months old).
Thoughtful and considerate towards others
You’ll be adaptable, empathetic and reliability with a strong commitment to work
Ability to communicate effectively with consumers, families and all levels of staff
Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft teams and Client Care systems
Self-motivated and outcome orientated.
Highly efficient with proven time management skills
Desirable
Ideally, you’ll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or Individual Support or an equivalent qualification. If you’re not currently qualified and would like to be, then we can help you get there.
You’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care.
