You want to actively participate in shaping policies and initiatives that reduce carbon emissions, promote renewable energy adoption, and enhance the overall environmental performance of the transport network.In this role, you'll:You'll be a dedicated resource for the Warringah Freeway Upgrade and sit in the broader Western Harbour Tunnel and Warringah Freeway Upgrade (WHTWFU) Environment and Sustainability team (7 people).The WHTWFU project comprises a new tolled motorway tunnel connection across Sydney Harbour, and an upgrade of the Warringah Freeway to integrate the new motorway infrastructure with the existing road network.You'll be responsible to provide visible leadership, manage high level technical advice and support the delivery of the WFU project on environmental issues, including environmental assessment, environmental management, compliance and sustainability.This role will see you identify environmental risks and issues for the WFU Project and recommend appropriate risk management strategies and interventions to minimise risk. You'll provide strategic advice to project, program and operational teams on environmental requirements, and contribute to the development of post approval documents, consistency assessments and other environmental programs.This is a temporary opportunity up to December 2026.About youYour experience working on projects with competing demands, in a complex work environment, requiring political astuteness in regards to social impact, environmental and economic issues will see you excel in formulating advice, preparing strategies and recommendations based on professional judgement and expertise.
