About the Role
The Home Care Assistant delivers individualised, personalised care and assistance to clients so they may continue to live in their home and focus on quality of life.
Responsibilities include:
* Monitoring and reporting on client condition
* Assisting with transportation
* Performing household cleaning
* Supporting personal hygiene
* Preparing meals
* Other health and wellness services
Home Care Assistants demonstrate commitment to best practice care, ensuring all in-home care is provided in a personalised, caring and respectful way, aligned with Respect's policy and procedures and client care plans.
Requirements
To be successful, applicants must demonstrate:
* A genuine passion for making a difference in aged care community services
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Respect for all individuals, regardless of background or personal characteristics
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing and computer skills
* A flexible approach
* Confident using electronic communication and applications
* COVID vaccination (required)
* Valid CPR and First Aid certification
* Certificate III in Ageing, Certificate III in Individual Support or similar qualification desirable
* Full driver's license and suitable transportation
* Availability Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts
* Possibility of working later shifts until 8:00 p.m.
