Your new role The Legal and Conveyancing Specialist is a pivotal role, driving the legal transactions and compliance aspects of Ausgrid's cutting-edge infrastructure projects. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to provide expert guidance and implement innovative solutions that positively impact landowners, local communities, and our project delivery teams. Manage property acquisitions/disposals, acquisition/relinquishment of easements, leases, licences and rights of carriageway/access over land related to project delivery and operations. Preparing and reviewing contracts for the acquisition of various property interests and forms of access. Investigate and report on the impact of various statutes as they affect the land access and property requirements of the project delivery. Provide assistance with landowner engagements and property negotiations. Timely coordination of land and property access requests, notices and enquiries with landowners, project teams and sub-contractors. Liaise with Government departments/Councils on an as required basis relating to property matters to determine that their expectations and issues are incorporated into policies while remaining consistent with the organisation's direction, and governing legislation. Tertiary qualifications (diploma level or higher) in a related discipline eg Conveyancing Law or Real Estate contracts. Extensive property experience, with a mixture of property/legal management and conveyancing experience. Proven experience relating to property transactions and/or compliance preferably within the electricity power industry or similar. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation, representation, negotiation and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage relationships with external and internal parties. Sound knowledge of legal aspects of property transactions and the capacity to analyse and assess a diverse range of property related issues and advise accordingly. Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and Property and/or Project Management applications. Ability to prioritise competing demands to utilise time and resources efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines/timeframes set. Able to work in a team environment effectively. A current and unrestricted motor vehicle driver's license.
