This role is integral to providing business support that enables safe and continuous improvement in safety performance.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Laboratory Technician's primary role is to perform tests according to documented methods on raw ingredients (e.g.
paper) and manufactured corrugated fibre board products, and to execute any claim that may arise from substandard components used in production.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Conduct the standard laboratory tests as required by the State Technical & Services Manager and Sales Account Managers Maintain an electronic database with trial and testing results.
Maintain a strong focus on paper quality through Millwide and provide direct feedback to the Paper Mills.
Perform random quality checks on factory machinery to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
Authorised to reject raw materials and communicate quality issues to National Supply Chain personnel.
Coordinate activities with the Technical Centre Staff, providing knowledge, laboratory test data and quality information, for Paper Auditing conducted at a national level.
What you will bring to the team: Tertiary qualification in a science or engineering field Be highly motivated, willing to learn with a positive can-do attitude.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Problem solving skills with a detailed solution-based focus.
Ability to work in a high pressured, fast paced environment.
Can work independently and unsupervised Training will be provided.
