We currently have an opportunity for a District Representative / Applications Engineer to join our Nalco Water team in Western Australia.
We are looking for a recent graduate with Chemistry, Science or Chemical Engineering background, or an experienced person with a history in similar industry to work with our clients that are predominantly based in the Rockingham to Busselton region. Reporting to the Area Manager, your technical and commercial activities will involve servicing our existing and potential new clients including major industrial and mineral processing facilities.
This role involves regular travel within Western Australia so there may be a need for overnight stays.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting in the servicing of our customers in the sector.
2. Equipment testing and maintenance, water sampling, chemical analysis and ensuring the optimal application of chemical treatment programs.
3. Assisting with the troubleshooting of technical problems in a timely manner to ensure ongoing chemical treatment of process unit operations and water treatment facilities.
4. Developing strong client relationships by driving value added and focused service delivery.
5. Managing customer inventories and product delivery
6. Gaining a better understanding of our in-field process and water treatment services.
7. Working with the direct assistance of our existing sales professionals to gain new business via focused planning, targeted prospecting, industry networking, and partnership with internal sales and support teams.
To be successful, ideally you will preferably have the following:
8. Recent Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Science degree (or) experience in industry setting
9. Strong technical problem-solving ability.
10. A desire to work in the water treatment and mineral processing industries.
11. A strong aptitude for customer service sales
12. Can perform both individually and in a team environment.
13. An innate ability to quickly develop rapport and build strong working relationships with users of the products and chemical treatment programs.
14. A pro-active approach to learning the technical aspects of the business.
15. High commitment to Safety, Environment, Occupational Health and Quality.
16. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
17. Excellent interpersonal skills.
