The Pouch Assistant reports to the Production Manager and works with a team who will all be cross-trained. Your go-to role will be the Pouch Operator role to convert high-quality pouches for ePac. This is a hands-on opportunity and the first step in becoming a Pouch Operator in the ever-growing flexible packaging industry. The (PA) will perform various manual and mechanical duties to aid in the setup and operation of our pouch machines.Responsibilities Assist Pouch Operator with Pouch MachineCorrectly set up and run machine to expedite quality and run speedMaintain production standard of quality and effective run rateFollow established material handling procedureFollow all instructions on work order and safe operating practices (SOP)Maintain Quality control check sheet, and Production and waste reportsCheck pouch quality continually during production runInform Pouch Operator of any defective material, maintenance issues, and safety issuesStage proper equipment and secondary packaging (boxes, pallets, labels, etc.) necessary for production jobs based on production scheduleClean and maintain equipment in preparation for the next production runMake recommendations to supervision and management for improvement of production in terms of efficiency and workflowPackage finished product at one of several workstations as assignedMake packing cartons and carton labels as required by the Work OrderOversee daily performance of Pouch Assistant functionsChange rolls and cut out splicesQuality Control checks and data entryTrash and trim removalObserve safety rulesCould be asked to support other parts of the operations including press assistant, slitting, and laminationLet's talk about you: Possess and foster a positive attitude of learning and respectAbility to understand and follow verbal and written directionsAbility to take ownership of work and also work as part of a teamStrong verbal communication skillsVisual acuity to color consistencyManual coordination and dexterityAbility to use basic hand toolsBe able to work safely around operating machineryYou like getting down to the nitty-gritty Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferredMust be flexible in work scheduleePac believes in a collaborative and cross-trained workforce and encourages all employees to learn all facets of our company.
