About The Team The Finance team is a proactive, valued, and trusted business partner within the University and provides significant contributions towards the implementation of the University’s strategic plan. Your New Role The Senior Management Accountant (Offices) will support the Manager, Finance Business Partnering (Central, Offices & Capital) and the Head of Financial Performance to provide expert advice, guidance and support to the University Executive and Finance Executive with respect to a full scope of strategic financial matters in the development and execution of the Office Strategies. You will be expected to business partner with Executives and other senior decision makers and provide critical insights in the Office Strategies. You will lead the integration of finance and professional strategies, performance outcomes and their translation into effective policies, processes and systems across the University. You will work collaboratively as part of a holistic finance partnering team and lead multi-disciplinary finance teams in the development, execution and communication of successful financial outcomes that are reflective of the overall education strategy. Your key responsibilities will include – Lead the establishment of evidence based financial modelling, analysis and advice, ensuring sound financial outcomes are delivered consistently. Lead the University’s Office budgeting forecasting and reporting activities in consultation with the Manager, Finance Business Partnering (Central, Offices & Capital), and the Senior Management Accountant (Central & Capital). Lead the preparation of Operating budget and forecasts, including insightful commentary and analysis for submission to University Executives and Governing Committees. Facilitate and drive finance understanding to the development, execution and communication of financial outcomes of the strategies, plans and contractual agreements, including contribution to business case development to advise the University in the evaluation strategies, plans and partnerships with the Colleges. Support Business Case development, including but not limited to ensuring alignment with the University’s strategy, including the development of supporting financial models. Develop stakeholder engagement plans to build financial literacy and promote proactive business practices and mitigate financial risks. Please refer to the Position Description for further details. Full professional member of a recognised Australian or International equivalent accounting body. Substantial leadership experience in strategic planning, financial analysis, budgeting, financial planning and management reporting, with a strong governance and partnership orientation. Demonstrated ability to develop financial models and their use in scenario planning to inform decision making. Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex business and financial strategies to find innovative solutions to improve financial performance outcomes of organisations. Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines to ensure objectives are met. Substantial experience in process improvements made to enhance delivery of accounting insight, advice and support to stakeholders. Excellent research, analytical, interpretive skills and problem-solving skill with successful record of addressing identified problems with practical solutions and outcomes.
