The Nursing and Midwifery Education and Research Service (NMERS) aims to foster a culture of learning that nurtures the growth of knowledge, skills, and attitude from novice to advanced practice. The promotion of self-reflection and ongoing learning will enable a professional nursing and midwifery workforce to continually advance their clinical practice to enhance patient experience, satisfaction, and outcome throughout their career.
The Clinical Facilitator (CF) 7B Medical Ward plans, implements and evaluates clinical learning opportunities at a ward / clinical unit / workplace level to support clinicians to provide evidence-based and contemporary patient-focused services. Clinical Facilitators develop and maintain collaborative relationships with clinicians and educators to enable education services to be available and accessible within the clinical setting.
Major portfolios for this position include orientation of new nursing staff; staff development of both novice and experienced nurses, at all grades; review and management of requisite education requirements. Development of specialist education that is identified through a training needs analysis.

* Demonstrate clinical experience and contemporary knowledge relevant to the initial work allocation portfolio areas.
* Demonstrate skills and knowledge in developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical education activities which support clinicians to deliver contemporary, and evidence-based care.
* Demonstrate advanced level of interpersonal and written communication skills to enable accurate, complete, and timely information transfer to clinicians in individual and group education settings to support patient-centred care delivery and staff's professional development.
* Demonstrate ability to act as a professional role model in supporting the professional development of others; applying evidence and best practice to patient care, establishing, and maintaining relationships; and managing a range of tasks to support positive outcomes for the individual and workplace.
* Demonstrate ability to work effectively within both clinical and education teams to meet service imperatives within designated timeframes and resource allocations.
