Position Description The Product Developer will join a dynamic and collaborative team that places high emphasis on core values and culture.
The successful candidate will buy, design and develop product for the brand's seasonal ranges to deliver at the right time at the right price, meeting the needs of both the customer and business expectations on sustainability and diversity.
Duties and Key Responsibilities: Develop and design product using a combination of current trends, best sellers, proven product knowledge & retail team feedback.
Identify new trends that are commercial and relevant to the customer through overseas competitive analysis and local market awareness.
Assist in the management of retail buys & finalising product ranges, including attribute option plans within assigned categories.
Proactively coordinate and maintain critical path timelines, from conception to pre-production samples.
Ensure samples developed are delivered on time, achieving the target margin whilst keeping sampling costs to a minimum under tight deadlines.
Work closely with the production team and garment tech throughout all stages of bulk, including weekly fittings, style approvals and fabric confirmations to ensure accurate and on-time delivery.
Monitor product sell-through at a retail level and collaborate with product team on repeats.
Redevelop best-sellers and additional product for all categories in collaboration with team.
Develop prints and other design applications.
Negotiate prices with suppliers on development product and achieve target margin in each category.
Maintain supplier relationships and identify new suppliers to maximise margins and help facilitate growth for the brand.
Assist marketing team and digital team with photoshoots for eCommerce, marketing campaigns, content and retail team training.
Post-seasonal analysis and option planning within categories.
Skills, Experience and Key Competencies: 3 years of experience within an apparel-focused product development role.
Exceptional communication and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise, multi-task and follow up.
Team player with the ability to provide influence across the business and impact positive change.
Be proactive and enthusiastic about product performance.
Enjoy refining systems to make them more efficient.
Good commercial knowledge on fashion trends, understanding of the market and fitting and structure of garments.
Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator skills are required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
