The KJU is responsible for developing and coordinating the implementation of the Victorian Aboriginal Justice Agreement - AJA/Burra Lotjpa Dunguludja in partnership with the Aboriginal community and Victorian government, in line with realising Aboriginal self-determination. The AJA drives structural and systemic transformation across the department and the VPS to improve justice outcomes for Aboriginal Victorians. The AJA has established extensive Government and Community networks through the Aboriginal Justice Forum (AJF), Regional Aboriginal Justice Advisory Committee Network (RAJAC) and the Local Aboriginal Justice Action Committees (LAJAC) and uses them to effectively deliver initiatives including early intervention and prevention programs, diversion initiatives as well as rehabilitation and reintegration support. About the Role As Grants Officer, you will contribute to the delivery of KJU grant programs by acting as a key point of contact for KJU regions supporting positive outcomes for the community. You will support the Grants and Programs team, including the Senior Grants Officers and Manager in building strong professional relationships with grant applicants, stakeholders across the organisation and with partner agencies, businesses and other organisations. This will include providing sound advice to stakeholders, including councils, community organisations, recovery groups, businesses and others. You will also take responsibility for: Preparing and administering contracts and grant funding agreements, including the development and application of service specifications, key performance indicators, reporting and payment arrangements. Monitoring community funded grant programs and undertaking regular site visits. Coordinating and maintaining effective relationships with relevant working parties, internal and external stakeholders including Aboriginal community organisations in support of the promotion and development of integrated service responses. Supporting the delivery of reports, recommendations and regular progress reporting, including overview of budgets, commitments and forecasting on the status of grant programs. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Experience or relevant skills in grant program management and administration, stakeholder engagement and communication. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Aboriginal community, both society and culture and the issues impacting on it. Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and work effectively with the Victorian Aboriginal community. A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the interface between Aboriginal issues and Government and service priorities. Stakeholder Management - understands underlying needs and issues of stakeholders, and negotiates effectively to develop and implement solutions.
