Clerk ll – Public Health-Healthy Living (SS-24-1297)Facility/Program:Regional Office - SouthportLocation:SouthportPosition Type:Full-TimePosition Status:PermanentFTE:1.0Hours of Work:7.75 hour shiftsShift(s):Days, occasional evenings & weekends as requiredUnion:CUPEStart Date:As mutually agreedPosition SummaryUnder the general guidance of a designated Public Health-Healthy Living professional (i.e. Public Health Nurse, Healthy Living Facilitator, or Healthy Baby/Towards Flourishing Coordinator), and directly reporting to the Director, Health Services – Public Health-Healthy Living & Primary Care or Manager, Health Services – Public Health-Healthy Living, the Clerk II – Public Health-Healthy Living provides clerical support to the department. The incumbent is responsible to respond to internal and external requests that support regional services and initiatives and maintain accuracy of the regional and local databases. The clerk works with Public Health-Healthy Living professionals to find and report on department information as needed.The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.May be required to work in locations other than their site/office within PH-HL program.QualificationsCompletion of a Business Administration or Office Administration Program from an accredited institutionProficient in Microsoft Office Applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookKnowledge of general office proceduresKnowledge in the use of general office equipmentMinimum of one (1) year full time equivalent clerical experience in the last five (5) yearsOther suitable combinations of education and experience may be consideredDemonstrated oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills and abilitiesDemonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a teamDemonstrated ability to show attention to detail and accuracyDemonstrated ability to establish effective and professional working relationshipsGiven the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is requiredProficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positionsDemonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the jobDemonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediumsGood work and attendance recordConditions of EmploymentRequires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00.Southern Health-Santé Sud, in partnership with the Indigenous community, is committed to increasing the representation of Indigenous people within all levels of our workforce.
