The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing financial records, with hands-on experience in Xero accounting software, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll, and BAS (Business Activity Statements). This is a great opportunity for an experienced professional looking to contribute to the financial operations of a growing company.Key Responsibilities: Xero Accounting:Maintain accurate financial records using Xero accounting software.Prepare and reconcile bank and credit card statements.Process monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.Accounts Payable (AP):Process and record vendor invoices and bills.Ensure timely payment of accounts and manage supplier relationships.Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.Accounts Receivable (AR):Generate and send customer invoices.Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts.Reconcile AR reports and ensure payments are accurately recorded.Payroll Processing:Process employee payroll accurately and on time.Ensure compliance with relevant taxation and superannuation requirements.Manage leave accruals, deductions, and other payroll-related calculations.BAS (Business Activity Statement):Prepare and lodge BAS on a monthly or quarterly basis.Ensure compliance with GST, PAYG, and other taxation requirements.Work with external accountants to ensure accuracy and timely lodgement.General Bookkeeping:Maintain financial records in accordance with company policies and statutory regulations.Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.Provide support for audits and ad hoc financial projects.Key Requirements: Experience as a Bookkeeper, with a strong understanding of accounting principles.Proficiency in Xero accounting software is essential.Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and BAS preparation.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.Strong communication skills to liaise with suppliers, customers, and team members.Knowledge of Australian tax and superannuation regulations.Prior experience working in a similar role, particularly in a small to medium-sized business, is highly regarded.Preferred Qualifications: Certificate IV in Accounting or Bookkeeping (or equivalent).Experience with MYOB, QuickBooks, or other accounting software is a plus.Prior experience working in a similar industry (e.g., retail, services, or construction) is advantageous.Basic understanding of financial reporting and budgeting.If you're a proactive and experienced bookkeeper with a passion for accuracy and financial organization, we'd love to hear from you!
