Court Liaison Officer (CNC 2, / SW4 / Clin Psych / Psychologist /OT4) - Inverell and Moree Local Court - PFT Position Title: Court Liaison Officer (CNC 2 / SW4 / Clin Psych /Psychologist / OT4) - Inverell and Moree Local Court – PFT
The Role: To assist the Court Magistrates with the diversion of defendants who have or are suspected of having a mental illness, mental disorder or a cognitive impairment from the Criminal Justice System (Court and Correctional Centres) into the community.
PLEASE NOTE: The Location / Base Court for this role is Inverell Local Court.
Travel will be required between Inverell and Moree Local Courts.
Must hold a relevant post graduate qualification in mental health.
Must hold a current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel.
Minimum Requirements:
Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2:
Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
Current full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Five years full time equivalent post registration clinical experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent in an acute mental health setting.
Occupational Therapist Level 4:
Must hold qualifications recognised for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
Must hold general registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
Five years full time equivalent post registration clinical experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent in an acute mental health setting.
Psychologist and Accredited Counsellor qualification / Counsellor Level 4:
Option 1: Minimum of a four-year accredited psychology degree and hold general registration with Psychology Board of Australia under Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Option 2: Minimum four-year full time equivalent sequence of study via either pathway A or B and hold membership or demonstrate eligibility for listing on the Australian Register of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (ARCAP).
Five years full time equivalent clinical experience as a psychologist or post-qualifying counsellor, with at least 3 years full time equivalent in an acute mental health setting.
Our Service and Team: Statewide Community and Court Liaison Service (SCCLS) delivered by Justice Health NSW offers mental health support in Local Courts across NSW.
This service conducts thorough evaluations and, when suitable, offers suggestions to magistrates for diverting individuals away from custody and into suitable treatment options.
