Position Overview We are currently seeking an Accountant working part-time 30 hours per week. We understand the importance of work-life balance and offer flexibility in when the hours are worked, including the option to align with school hours or other personal commitments. In this role, you will contribute to our mission by managing the end-to-end accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting. This position will work closely with the Business Services Officer to perform critical accounting tasks and support the financial health of the organisation. Key Components of the Role General Ledger Reconciliations: Ensure that all general ledger accounts are reconciled in a timely and accurate manner. Funding Contract Administration and Acquittals : Oversee the administration of funding contracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms and accurate financial reporting. Monthly Management Reports: Prepare and present monthly management reports. Budgeting: Participate in the development and maintenance of budgets for the organisation and individual programs to ensure effective financial management and resource allocation. Year-End Audit: Participate in the annual audit process, working closely with auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit. BAS Returns: Review and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS) on a timely basis to ensure compliance with tax obligations. Payroll Processing: Oversee the payroll processing, ensuring all payments are accurate and compliant with relevant laws and agreements. What you bring Essential: A tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline Minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial accounting role The right to work in Australia A valid WA driver’s license A valid and clear police check Desirable: Experience in a healthcare or community-focused organisation Experience with systems implementation or improvement CPA or CA qualification (or working towards) Advanced Excel skills Experience using MYOB.
