Primary objective Provide high-quality business service support, financial analysis, reporting and advice to managers and staff in the Mining Division to ensure efficient and effective management of the division’s financial and human resources. Key duties and responsibilities 1. Provide high quality business support services to managers and staff in the Division, including implementing good governance practices to maximise business outputs and ensure the achievement of strategic goals in accordance with Government and agency objectives and legislation. 2. Ensure the efficient delivery of administrative and data processing activities associated with procurement, financial and human resource services including monitoring and reporting to identify risks and instigating continuous improvement processes to improve service delivery. 3. Oversee and manage the Division's budget and finance functions including provision of advice, reports and support to the Executive Director, Directors and managers on budgets, cash flows and forward estimates, and develop budget management issue resolution proposals and/or input into remedial activities. 4. Proactively develop the business practices of the Division’s staff, including provision of advice and support for human resource and financial management processes. 5. Act as a conduit for the Division for budget and finance queries and end of financial year processing. Selection criteria Essential 1. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer systems and software, including spreadsheets, word processing, email and electronic calendar applications and record management systems, and a willingness to adopt new technology. 2. Demonstrated experience in human resource management activities, public finance, budgetary procedures and accounting practices, preferably gained in the public sector, and in the collection, interpretation and collation of financial data and information to produce reports. 3. High-level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills to operate effectively at a senior level and prepare high quality reports and correspondence. 4. Demonstrated ability to coordinate, support and influence others to achieve outcomes and foster a positive work environment that encourages high level performance, continuous improvement and innovation. 5. Proven ability to work under pressure with limited direction, manage competing priorities and to produce high quality outputs within tight timeframes, in a climate of ongoing change. Desirable 1. Tertiary or certificate qualifications in accounting, business, commerce or related discipline.
