About Us Inala Community House is a progressive, community-based organisation, based in the south-west suburbs of Brisbane. We have been providing a range of responses to local communities for over 50 years and remain committed to making a real difference in the lives of those in the community in which we serve.Inala Community House operates two Child Protection programs including Out of Home Care and Family Intervention. This casual position is in the ICH Out of Home Care program. About the Role In this rewarding and diverse role, you will have the opportunity to improve the lives of children in foster and kinship care, to challenge yourself with handling complex cases and to support a small team of Caseworkers.You will achieve this by providing additional support to a case worker and/or senior case worker in the form of one-on-one support to a child or young person. The support is made up of engagement in pro-social activities, life-skills development, support to attend therapeutic interventions, and in some cases transport to school and other services. These are package based supports which are tailored to carer and child's needs, this may comprise of early morning, afternoon, evening and weekend work.You will be part of a dynamic, passionate small team and part of an organisation where you will be able to have input and your voice heard. In a small organisation like ICH you can evoke change and not be lost in the crowd!In this role, whilst your days will be varied, they will include:Build meaningful relationships and mentoring to children and young people in careProvide positive role modellingParticipate in activities with children and young people which supports their growth and developmentProvide encouragement and motivation to children and young peopleAssist the child or young person to develop relevant life skillsAssess the child or young person's needs and any difficultiesManage escalations of behaviour and ensure the safety of children and young peopleProvide transportation services as requiredMaintain case notesWork with a range of stakeholders to ensure that the child's needs are met and to support holistic careSupport the child or young person to maintain and develop social and cultural networksIn return you will receive $46.69-$50.06 hourly rate (inclusive of casual loading) + super, flexible working hours by negotiation, access to generous salary packaging and emergent training. You have flexible availability for mornings, afternoons, evenings and/or weekends.You will have a current drivers licence, current blue card (in accordance with No card, No start laws), be willing to undergo an LCS2 check, have a current QLD drivers licence.
