The Role:
This position plays a key role supporting the finance team. This role involves working closely with the Senior Accounts Manager, to ensure the smooth and accurate management of our financial records. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounts administration, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and construction industry knowledge, with proficiency in key accounting software tools. In consultation with the Senior Accounts Manager, this role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of financial transactions, compliance with relevant legislation and providing accurate financial data to assist with business decision-making.
* Full time Permanent
* Office based - located in Hillcrest QLD 4118
* Monday - Friday (8.30AM to 5.00PM)
Key Employment Requirements: Qualifications, Licences and Identification Documents
* Evidence of Australian Work Rights (Mandatory)
* Valid QLD Driver’s License
* Education/ Qualification: Certificate IV/Diploma in Accounting and Bookkeeping or a Certificate IV in Accounts Administration (highly desirable)
Key Experience and Capabilities:
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, with a solid understanding of the construction industry preferred
* Good knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and debt collection regulations
* Technical proficiency: Must be highly efficient in using Xero accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite and Employment Hero (HRIS - payroll)
* The ability to manage accounts and administrative tasks, with exceptional efficiency and attention to detail
* Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to task prioritisation
* Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, impactfully and persuasively
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships across teams
* Proven enthusiasm and ability to deliver high-quality services and create positive stakeholder experiences
* Skilled in recognising, managing and escalating conflicts, ensuring timely and effective resolutions in line with organisational processes
* Demonstrates flexibility and resilience in adapting to changing priorities, processes and environments to ensure continued success and meet evolving business needs
* High level of integrity and trustworthiness
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and maintain accurate financial records using Xero, ensuring seamless day-to-day financial operations in close collaboration with the Senior Accounts Manager, Company Accountant, and CFO
* Financial Reporting: assist with financial statements, budgeting and other ad hoc financial duties as required
* Review and reconcile debtor statements and bank reconciliations
* Deliver essential payroll support by onboarding new employees and setting them up in the payroll system, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements
