With significant people management and leadership skills, you will lead and be the advocate for one of our sections - Construction. This position is a member of the City Works Leadership team and is responsible for leading and supporting a Section of dedicated staff and external resources.The Section Manager – City ConstructionThe Construction Section delivers Council’s annual construction works program to create and renew road, storm water and related assets. This role is key in building and maintaining a culture that proactively manages safety and other risks to effectively deliver projects to the community.Your key focus areas are:Manage the effective and efficient delivery of works and services, within allocated budgets and established timeframes.Actively participate as a key member of the City Works Leadership Team and contribute to the development and delivery of organisational and departmental improvement strategies.Actively engage with stakeholders (customers and staff) to deliver high and improving levels of customer service.Cultivate an agile, collaborative, and consultative staff culture through active leadership, guidance, and motivation in line with Council’s values.Create a culture that embraces risk management principles and processes that support the implementation of the areas of responsibility at all levels of the organisation.LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOUOur ideal candidates are strategic thinkers and strong humanistic leaders with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving and strategy formation.
