Lifeline Direct (LLD) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lifeline Australia. LLD focuses on supporting the development and ongoing implementation of suicide prevention and community wellbeing programs in the regions which we operate while looking for opportunities to grow Lifeline's services in geographical areas where they do not currently exist. LLD encompasses Lifeline Centres in Hunter region, Central Coast, Eastern Suburbs-Bondi, New England North West, Northern NSW, Geelong and South West Victoria, Northern and Western Melbourne and Central Australia. Our specialised and targeted services operate nationally via a telehealth model. Based at our Northern NSW Distribution Center, the Sort Assistant will work under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor predominately within the Sort Area, however, provide support as needed on the truck and within the warehouse once training has been provided. Drawing upon your passion for second-hand goods coupled with your strong attention to detail, you will assist with coordinating incoming donations, sort, classify, and process raw stock in a manner conducive to effective time management, and packed as per operational directives. You will be able to complete allocated tasks in a timely and safe manner in accordance with LLD policies and procedures. You will also be able to work with limited supervision as well as provide guidance and supervision to volunteers as needed. You will be comfortable communicating with and training volunteers in the sorting process and other warehouse tasks as needed to ensure quality and safety standards are met. Over time, you will develop a solid understanding of what sells best at which stores and work towards providing quality goods that maximize revenue raised by the retail network. You will be happy to roll up your sleeves and learn new skills to assist the warehouse team in ensuring efficient operation and the achievement of Retail goals. Minimum Requirements: Current Class C Manual Driver's Licence Passion and understanding for recycled fashion and upcycling with strong attention to detail. The ability to maintain a high level of internal and external customer service. Physical ability to meet the demands of the position and work unsupervised or with limited supervision. High level of interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people. Willingness to promote and participate as part of the warehouse team and greater retail team. Able to work safely and productively to achieve the aims of the sort area. Strong focus on WHS to ensure safety within the warehouse environment. Demonstrated experience driving a light truck will be looked upon favourably.
