Air Force radiographic capability is a component of RAAF Operational Health Support facilities providing medical imaging services during major ADF exercises and deployments away from fixed facilities. As a RAAF radiographer, you will be based primarily at one of the two Air Force Expeditionary Health Squadrons at RAAF Bases Amberley or Williamtown. You may also be required to support the Royal Australian Navy Maritime Role 2 Enhanced health capability and participate in tri-service and multi-national operational and peacekeeping deployments.
RAAF Radiography duties are similar to those practiced in the community, but with an operational focus.
Professional support and supervision is provided for RAAF Radiographers through the Radiology and Radiation Safety Cell. Post graduate training and clinical work in civilian tertiary hospitals may be provided as part of a comprehensive training and professional development program. There may be some after-hours work.
