The Senior Risk & Compliance Specialist is a key member of the Distribution First Line Risk & Compliance team, responsible for the provision of high-quality advice, risk and compliance services to the Distribution business unit.
Key Responsibilities:
4. Partner with the Distribution Leadership Team to provide support, direction and guidance on all regulatory, risk and compliance matters.
5. Supporting the integration, implementation and embedment of new risk and compliance methodologies and frameworks for the business.
6. Proactively embed and improve a risk management culture across the Distribution business
7. Manage, monitor and maintain a structured and systematic approach to 1st Line risk through the identification of risk and compliance matters and their appropriate prioritisation.
8. Assist the business to implement and maintain a comprehensive Risk and Compliance Framework, through the facilitation of risk management activities across the division.
9. Provide high quality and timely risk and regulatory technical advice to the business in relation to the legislative and regulatory requirements impacting the business.
10. Review and approve member communications and disclosure documents including PDSs, letters, marketing/web contents, FAQs, policies/ procedures.
11. Prepare and present succinct and relevant reporting on risk and compliance matters for executive management, regulated entity Boards and regulators.
12. Work effectively with team members and other stakeholders to collaboratively engage in document reviews and projects.
What you will bring:
13. Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or extensive equivalent practical experience such as Accounting, Commerce, Banking, Economics, Finance or Law.
14. Preferred 3 years+ experience in operational risk and compliance in the financial services sector. Experience in superannuation is preferred.
15. A commitment to delivering excellence in client and member outcomes aligned to improving the financial futures of Australians
16. Solid understanding of our regulatory environment
17. Extensive knowledge of the products and regulatory environment in respect of Superannuation, Managed Investments and IDPS
18. Advanced ability to research, interpret and advise on the practical application of complex legislative requirements and reforms
19. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications
