The Company Paraway Pastoral currently operates 29 agricultural enterprises across a number of diversified climatic zones and a range of country types. The Company divides its operations into four regions: Northern (consisting of properties in Queensland), Central (with properties in northern and Western NSW), Cropping (properties in Western NSW) and Southern (including Southern NSW and Victoria). Collectively the properties have the capacity to carry over 220,000 cattle and 250,000 sheep with their primary goal to be a consistent, reliable supplier of quality produce, while operating a sustainable business that targets long-term returns while effectively managing short-term risks. The Position: Due to internal promotion, Paraway are currently seeking to fill the position of General Manager - Central Livestock. This role will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will have eight direct reports (7 Station Managers and 1 Business Analyst). Primary objectives are: Coordinate and oversee management of large-scale cattle farming operations in the Central Region (NSW). Provide expert leadership to Station Managers in all aspects of Station and Business Management. Be an effective member of the Paraway Senior Leadership Team. The Person: We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following skills, experience and key attributes: Sound understanding of and experience in managing large scale agricultural enterprises, specifically including but not limited to both sheep and cattle production. Strategically focused with experience in change management, in particular cultural change. Open and communicative leadership style, with a strong mentoring and capability building approach to people management that encourages teamwork and collaboration. Experience working in a geographically dispersed organisation in challenging risk environments. High level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain key relationships and influence others at all levels of the organisation. Well-developed report writing, negotiation and influencing skills and confident in making timely decisions under pressure. Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop and enhance policy and procedures. High level business acumen with a forward thinking and continuous improvement mindset. Resilient, adaptable, highly motivated as well as well-planned and highly organised. High level commitment to safety with an understanding of current Workplace Relations and Work, Health & Safety legislation. Ability to use Microsoft suite of programs to a level commensurate with position requirements. Tertiary qualification in Business Management, Agriculture or related discipline. Hold a current unencumbered driver's license. Willingness and availability for regular travel (intra/interstate and remote), often require overnight or extended stays due to remote locations.
