About the role Nexus Eyecare is looking for a highly motivated and experienced 2IC/Second-in-Charge to join our dynamic team in Blacktown, NSW to fill in a 13-month role with a scope of extending into permanent position. This is a full-time position that will play a pivotal role in supporting the Practice Manager/ Director and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our leading eye care practice.What you'll be doing Assist the Practice Manager in managing and leading a team of orthoptists, opticians, and administrative staffOversee the smooth running of the practice, including scheduling, rosters, inventory management, and patient flowProvide excellent customer service and ensure a high level of patient satisfactionCollaborate with the Practice Manager on strategic initiatives and business developmentContribute to the implementation of new processes and procedures to drive continuous improvementDeputize for the Practice Manager in their absence and act as the main point of contactWhat we're looking for Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar 2IC or practice management role within the healthcare/medical industryStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a teamExcellent organizational and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detailPassion for providing exceptional patient care and a commitment to improving patient outcomesFamiliarity with healthcare regulations, accreditation, and quality standardsPrevious experience of specialist medical practice (preferably Ophthalmology)Good knowledge of Medicare, medical terminologyMedical software experience (preferably Genie)Excellent time management skills including ability to prioritize multiple tasksDemonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplined teamGreat computer aptitudeAbility to work independently and as a part of the teamBe able to provide excellent customer service to patients and health professionals through all communications channels including phone, email and face-to-faceGood written, verbal and phone communication skills in a professional and polite mannerExcellent attention to detailA high standard of personal integrity – trustworthy, loyal and honest.An ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all patient and practice mattersAbility to multitask, remain calm and efficient even when working in a busy and pressured environmentComfortable reporting to a manager and work as directed by them.What we offer Roster day off once a fortnightOnsite parkingTraining opportunities provided throughout the year and continuing education upon applicationHourly rate is plus superannuation and plus 17.5% holiday loading on annual 4 weeks leave annually PRO rata of contracted hours per week.Open and friendly culture where each team member is valued and feedback appreciated.
