A rare opportunity has become available for an energetic and proactive Production Coordinator to come on board!
Reporting to the Production Manager this role manages the hour-to-hour operation on their shift with focus on safety, quality and productivity of the factory. This includes troubleshooting and liaising with the appropriate internal stakeholders.
The successful candidate needs to have strong leadership expertise, a high degree of autonomy, great communication skills, desire to keep learning, analytical mindset and able to do administration and reporting work .
You will need to foster and maintain a work environment conducive to performance, continuous improvement, employee engagement and the highest levels of safe working practices.
Some Key accountabilities include but not limited to:
Check progress of production schedule by line & escalate if any major unplanned downtime.
Check & Ensure all lines are running at correct production speeds
Review & ensure that Roster / Schedules are aligned
Ensure compliance to food safety requirements for all products manufactured
Ensure all QA checks are being completed & recorded
Support the development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures as required
Ensure all products are produced to company specifications and in line with quality guidelines and expectations of our customers. No product is to be produced without obtaining authorised specifications.
Identify any faulty product produced during the manufacturing operation
Ensure any reports of product non-conformance must be followed through with preventative/corrective action
Ensure all employees in the production team adhere to all company policies and procedures
Ensure hygiene and housekeeping is of the highest standards at all times
Ensure packaging and product waste is minimised and machines and labour are utilised efficiently
Motivate staff in a manner which ensures high levels of performance
Develop, recommend, and implement processes and procedures that improve production
Minimise downtime
Support the training and induction plan for operators
Promote collaboration across departments to drive optimal productivity
Manage team performance as required.
About you:
Supervisory/management experience
Flexibility. This role may require you to rotate between shifts.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to organise, manage and control workflow
Ability to lead, coach, develop and manage teams and improve engagement
Ability to resolve conflict and drive change
Experience of FMCG industry is desirable
Dairy background is considered a plus
Focus on Quality and Safety best practices
Understanding of production management, organisation and planning, and problem solving methods
Good financial acumen
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Degree qualification in food, management or similar area is preferred
