Sharp & Carter are delighted to support Brisbane 2 to appoint their Head of Business Technology
About Brisbane 2
The Brisbane 2 Olympic and Paralympic Games (the “Games”) will be the largest event in South-East Queensland’s history, with the potential to deliver transformational change to our region. As the name suggests, the Brisbane Organising Committee for the 2 Olympic and Paralympic Games (“Brisbane 2”) is responsible for organising the Games. Some of Brisbane 2’s operational responsibilities include: raising revenue through sponsorship, ticketing and the sale of Brisbane 2 merchandise, sourcing the goods and services required to deliver the Games, managing the temporary overlay and operation of the venues and recruiting thousands of volunteers as well as many other elements that are essential in staging a world class global sporting event.
With the countdown towards the Games firmly underway, you have the opportunity to be part of the foundational Brisbane 2 team in supporting the delivery of this transformational once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for all Queenslanders.
About the Position
The Head of Business Technology will initially report to the Chief Corporate Services Officer and be responsible for overseeing the scoping, procurement, implementation and management of all Brisbane 2’s business technology resources including hardware, software and applications (for example business productivity, EPM, ERP, CRM, payroll, and expense management) as well as IT support services. The core purpose of the role is to ensure that Brisbane 2’s business technology operations run smoothly and securely and are delivered in alignment with Brisbane 2’s strategic, financial, commercial and operational objectives.
While the Head of Business Technology will focus on business technology and not 'Games' technology, such as venue technology, results technology, Games delivery systems, telecommunications, and energy services, during the early phase of Brisbane 2’s lifecycle, they will support and coordinate early planning work for these solutions in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee, external consultants, and subject matter experts.
