ORSR is responsible for StateGovernment policy and legislation as it relates to the sector, itskey programs, sport and recreation infrastructure and fundingprograms.
The ORSR supports sport and recreation organisations,Councils and the community through the development of policy,programs and resources, the provision of funding, recreation andsport planning, infrastructure development, elite sport pathwaysand programs, and the promotion of physical activity.
About the Business – Sector Capability andPartnerships ORSR's SectorCapability and Partnerships division is responsiblefor: Providing a strategic and integrated approach to build the diversity, strength, capacity and sustainability of the South Australian sport and active recreation sector.
Program development, delivery of resources, partnerships and initiatives to educate, support and enhance the efforts of sport and recreation organisations and clubs to drive participation outcomes for an Active State.
Lead the implementation of the State Government's physical activity strategic priorities.
Providing Executive Officer support to the State Government's Women in Sport Taskforce.
Leading the implementation of the Women in Sport Taskforce workplan.
Administering the Boxing and Martial Arts Act 2000.
Providing expert policy advice to the Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing on the South Australian racing industry (thoroughbred, harness and greyhound).

RoleDetails The Manager, Sector Policy and Support reportsto the Senior Manager, Sector Capability and Partnerships and isresponsible for providing leadership to the Sector Policy andSupport team including managing workloads, quality assurance andcontinuous improvement processes.
The Manager, Sector Policy andSupport is responsible for leading and coordinating the provisionof expert policy advice, and planning and leading policy relatedprojects related to the recreation, sport and racing industry,organisational development, innovation and business improvement,integrity and safe environments.
The Manager, Sector Policy andSupport is also responsible for the boxing and martial artsregulatory function to ensure compliance with the Boxing andMartial Arts Act 2000 and for providing customer support to thesport, recreation and physical activity sector.
SpecialConditions The Incumbent will be required to participate in the Agency's Performance Management Program.
The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
Some work outside of normal hours will be required.
Some interstate/interstate travel involving overnight absences may be required This role requires a working with children check.
A current Drivers Licence is essential.
