System Engineer Opportunity in Australia

About the Role

SAIC has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to provide critical support to the protection of mission systems in Australia.

The successful candidate will directly contribute to government mission success through comprehensive analysis, thought leadership, and proactive action on mission protection activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with internal and external entities for site and mission inspections and report findings and recommendations.
2. Coordinate and support assessment of mission essential functions.
3. Assess current and emerging threats, and contribute to space protection doctrine, strategies, plans, architectures, and associated requirements.
4. Provide vetted analysis and recommendations to improve space protection architectures and capabilities.
5. Develop threat mitigation tactics, techniques, and procedures.
6. Train operations personnel on threat mitigation.
7. Monitor and evaluate war games and exercises, capture and assess lessons learned for best practice implementation.
8. Define solutions for broad, abstract topics, succinctly capture risk and issues for the customer, and provides analysis and recommendations.
9. Review documentation and represent government as required in forums that support streamlined delivery of new capabilities and standardization of integration efforts.

Qualifications

1. Be a US Citizen.
2. Hold an Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, both current within 4 years prior to start.
3. Have a Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) or relevant field, and nine (9) years or more relevant experience; Masters in STEM or relevant field, and seven (7) years or more relevant experience.
4. Demonstrate knowledge of satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, and ground station characteristics.
5. Understand orbital mechanics and be able to analyze and articulate pros/cons of orbital changes.
6. A strong self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables, and superior data management/data visualization skills is also required.
