The business is a well-established and fast-growing FMCG business.The RoleAs the Site Services Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing all site service operations.
You will be responsible for ensuring the continuous and efficient running of plant utilities, compliance with regulatory standards, and the implementation of best practices in maintenance and safety.
This is a leadership position, requiring strategic oversight, hands-on expertise, and a proactive approach to site management.Key Responsibilities:Lead the management and maintenance of critical site services, including refrigeration (Ammonia and Glycol), compressed air, steam systems, hot water boilers, and HVAC systems.Oversee ammonia detection and monitoring systems, as well as hot water, chilled water, and town water systems.Ensure optimal performance of compressor cooling systems, air purgers, and energy management systems.Develop and implement site-wide maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.Manage fire safety system maintenance and compliance.Provide leadership and direction to technical teams and contractors.Be the point of contact for after-hours call-outs and emergency site service matters.Drive a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and regulatory compliance across all site services.Skills & ExperienceThey are looking for an experienced and proactive person with strong technical expertise and a strategic mindset.
The ideal candidate will have:Formal trade qualifications – a refrigeration ticket is essential.Additional qualifications in electrical, mechanical fitting, or boiler operations are highly desirable.Extensive experience working with refrigeration, boilers, compressed air, lubrication, and associated systems.Knowledge of industrial control systems such as Factory Talk.Familiarity with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics D365 and MEX Matrix.Strong knowledge of health & safety practices and compliance requirements.Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to make decisions under pressure.Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.Post-apprenticeship qualifications in pneumatics, hydraulics, or welding would be highly regarded.Previous experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment is advantageous.BenefitsThis is an opportunity to step into a role and make a lasting impact.
