Job Summary
This position involves delivering weed control and maintenance services, along with safely operating mechanical spray equipment. The goal is to effectively control weed growth through monitoring and reporting, limiting the spread of noxious weeds within our project areas, and adhering to the specified schedule and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Effectively inspect various road corridors and vacant land for growth of invasive weed species.
2. Report locations of weed events through internal programs.
3. Undertake weed control through spraying of weeds.
4. Work remotely in isolated areas with limited supervision.
5. Keep reports for daily activities.
Safety, Health, and Environment:
Proactively spot potential hazards, establish safety protocols, and foster ongoing enhancement in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE). Assist in recognising hazards, provide guidance on safety procedures, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental norms. Contribute to Top End Resources’ commitment to quality, safety, health, and environmental management by identifying possible risks and proposing enhancements.
Customer Relations:
Maintain consistent communication with customers for scheduling, updating progress, addressing issues, and spotting opportunities for additional services.
Operational Performance:
Duties encompass undertaking field analysis of weed growth and location, chemical spraying to ensure weed eradication, and handling diverse spraying apparatus. Aim to minimize disruption to clients, staff, and the general public during task execution.
People and Teams:
Build effective communication and collaborative partnerships with all involved parties.
Selection Criteria:
1. Possession of a Class C Driver’s License (manual preferred).
2. Capacity to work autonomously or as part of a team with minimal oversight.
3. Aptitude for prolonged manual outdoor labour.
4. Physical ability to fulfill job responsibilities.
5. Chem Certificate or the ability to obtain one.
6. Knowledge of weed species and best practice control.
7. Certificate I or equivalent in horticulture.
8. Construction Industry White Card (or ability to obtain).
