The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Falls Co-Response Program aims to enhance how the QAS responds to people who have fallen and call Triple Zero (000), through collaboration across the pre-hospital, hospital, and community health settings.
The QAS Falls Co-response units consist of a two-member crew of a Paramedic and an Allied Health Practitioner who provide specialised responses of a rapid community assessment, tailored interventions, and disposition planning to ensure care is delivered in the most appropriate location to people who have fallen.
The purpose of the Statewide Program Manager role is to provide strategic and clinical leadership to co-ordinate the design, development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation and monitoring of the QAS Falls Co-response Program across the state.
We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:
Expertise in development and implementation of strategic direction, as part of a team, and ability to lead change in the development of the QAS Falls Co-Response Program across the state.
Demonstrated expert ability to advocate and effectively communicate, engage, and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders, providing authoritative advice in scoping, designing, implementing, and evaluating services.
Expert knowledge, skills, and experience in evidence-based practice for falls interventions, prevention, and management.
Proven high level ability to lead and manage the program, the people, the service improvement initiatives, and the resources in line with best practice human resource management, including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour.
Demonstrated understanding, or ability to rapidly acquire understanding, of the pre-hospital context of service delivery.
