Hofmann Engineering in Newcastle has a vacancy for a Project Manager to join the team.
About the Role:
Key objectives include driving project performance to achieve tendered objectives and targets in a way that encourages continued business with customers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. To acquire and maintain a working knowledge of the Companies Quality Procedures, Work Instructions and Standard Process Instructions;
2. To carry out labour and material estimates to achieve competitive pricing of work within the capacity of Hofmann Engineering;
3. To represent the company in a professional manner and carry out all business dealings to the highest ethical standards;
4. To prepare detailed scopes of work plans and issue job production plans;
5. To maintain document control and drawing control procedures when issuing job plans, external enquiries and placing external purchase orders;
6. Ensure the Safety Standards are adhered to and that safety is a prime consideration in planning work scopes;
7. To schedule jobs with the objective of meeting quoted delivery dates;
8. To monitor progress of all jobs you are managing, both internally and externally;
9. Ensure that all work is carried out to Hofmann Quality Standards. Assess the customers QA requirements and levels of documentation and ensure these requirements are reflected in our Quality Plan;
10. Prepare ITP’s and establish the customers’ and Hofmann’s hold points and witness points and ensure these are controlled by the shop traveller; Compile MDR’s on completion of jobs;
11. Maintain Job Files containing specifications, all correspondence with customer, estimate details, print records, revision records, contract variations etc.;
12. Report any customer complaints to the Managing Director;
You will have:
1. A technical college or higher level qualification;
2. Basic knowledge of procurement processes and design requirements;
3. Substantial level of interpersonal, written and oral communication and negotiating skills;
4. Experience working with Microsoft Project and MS Office including ERP systems;
5. Experience in Large Machining, Turning, Vertical and Horizontal Boring, Gear cutting & Grinding, Transmission Fitting;
